One-liner

Cinemak is a movie app that lets you rate films the way you'd describe them to a friend — six honest tiers instead of a number — and turns those ratings into one feed that learns your taste.

Boilerplate

Cinemak is a mobile-first movie app built by one developer in Zagreb, Croatia. It replaces star ratings with six tiers (gems, cinema hall, A+ test, almost, lazy Sunday TV, trash) plus a heart for the films you love, and feeds those ratings into a single personal reel of recommendations that keeps room for surprises and never permanently writes a film off. Around the feed: a film diary, reviews, lists, where-to-watch, and the community-rated Top 333. It is built in Flutter on a Rails and Postgres backend, with a hybrid recommender and a small machine-learned reranker over a catalogue of more than 47,000 films from TMDB. The visual identity — sunset gradients, film grain, typography drawn from movie posters — is intentional: an app that takes movies seriously.
